A self programmable key can be purchased on Ebay at a reasonable price and can be cut by a locksmith. For security reasons two working keys are required to program a new key(computer chip in key) into the cars system. If you only have one working key. The program in the car must be erased and all new keys must be reprogrammed into the car memory. This is a several hour, multi step security process and can only be done by a Dealer or certified Locksmith

Alarm SolvedSolved

Ford Focus 2010  150000 miles
The alarm's remote control that comes with the car keys has stopped working. I've changed the battery with no positive response. I'm now using the keys to open the car, but as the alarm remains activated, every time I open it I need to quickly introduce the ignition key so that the alarm stops.

You should first check the internal contact of the alarm's corresponding button in the original key. I as well recommend you to repair the key and disconnect the alarm from the battery's feeding.
