I got this car used. It's power windows went out along with the 4 wheel drive lights high aand low blink six times and the dome lights along with vanity mirror lights do not work. This all broke on the same day. No blown fuses. Relay tests SOUND like they are fine. I an not fIne a wiring diagram thAt will show all these systems on the same circuit. What can I do.
The power windows will not work, interior lights are not working & windshield wipers won't work. All fuses & relays have been checked. Any suggestions? Need to fix ASAP...
After driving my vehicle for about 40 minutes, the engine stalls out on me. Sometimes it crank back up when when it does it the engine shakes badly and stalls out again. After that or during the times it won't start back up I'd have to wait a few hours to a few days before the vehicle is able to start again. This is a repeating cycle. I have changed the fuel pump, filter , and the crankshaft sensor. The problem was not resolved. An one has any ideas?
I bought a 2001 Ford explorer XLT not running. The transmission had been replaced, and it ran before the transmission was pulled. After the transmission has been installed it would not start back since then the pump has pretty much rotted off into the tank. I replaced the pump, but do not have power to the pump or the safety switch I can bypass the relay and the pump will run so I'm not getting power to my relay what do I do? After being prompted to enter my mileage on this but I realize that it does not show mileage on the instrument cluster it just has dashes
I have a Ford Explorer 2004 4.0 L, which is presenting several fuel and electricity issues. Sometimes it just works properly, but others it starts failing until it stalls, and if it does so, it is then hard to start the engine again. Has anyone got any idea about it?
The same occurred to me. You should check the fuel pump's connector, which is located in the co-driver's side of the car, in the chassis right where the second row of seats is found. Try to fasten it with a cable clamp.
I've got an Explorer 96 and every time I start the engine it desaccelerates until it stalls. It even bounces and jumps sometimes. Injectors have been cleaned and the oxygen filter changed, but the starting problem remains.
If the engine bounces it means that there is not enough fuel reaching it. You should check the shut-off valve, located at the bottom of the passenger's seat. That is the valve responsible for restricting the current to the fuel pump in case of any accident, and it may occur that it does the same when the door is strongly shut. Hope it helps.
Buddy you should change the O-rings or the cylinder head gasket that belong to the intake manifold. There are two sets of them, one on the bottom and the other in the middle of the intake manifold. In order to do this, you will need to take out the whole intake manifold, which are commonly worn out due to the heat. When this occurs, the car starts to absorb air through that place, causing your starting problems.
Some days ago my Explorer Eddie Bauer 2006 has started presenting a strange noise in the front right wheel. It seems as if something was damaged and it is stronger every day. I've changed bearings to new ones, and I don't know what else could be the cause.
Just installed a used transmission and when I take off it won't shift out of first gear unless you let completely off the accelerator and the check engine light came on and the overdrive off light flashes continuously until you turn ignition off what is the problem?
Your first mistake was a used trasmission. Todays trans missions are like everything else. Planned obsolencece. Just like your tires, brakes, belts, hose's', ect... i've been building these things over 40 years and they are made to fail. Junk yard transmission are the worst
I would appreciate someone's help. I own an automatic Ford Explorer xlt 2002, and what happens is that when changing the gears, the engine stalls. And once I start it again, the vehicle bounces. I've got no idea whatsoever what the cause can be, can anybody help me? Thank you
I have been Transmission Tech for 45 years. You problem is your torque converter solenoid or circuit. This can damage the torque convert and in some cases the trans. May neeed to be rebuilt. Depending on how long this has been going on. On the other hand The trans. Could have started to fail first and now is the cause of the solenoid failure
So this is the second winter in a row that I verify had to replace my battery multiple times. It's only been a week but again today my car wouldn't start. Also once my car is jumped and running game I'm having problems accelerating. If I need to accelerate quickly my check engine light will come and the car almost stalls. Then sometimes while in drive (usually I notice this when on the highway) sometimes my car will de-accelerate for a couple of seconds and I can hear a high pitched noise. I have no idea what this could be and when my car was just in to have the battery replaced my internal computer showed no other issies. I own a 2011 Ford Explorer with about 70,000 miles on it. I am the second owner and I love in Pennsylvania so our winters can be pretty cold!

I was driving slowly in a parking lot and it died and would not start back. The check engine light is on but no codes are read on the computer. The security light is flashing. We have replaced the crank sensor and the cam sensor
3 different times in last 52 days car just died at stop light and would not start. Went into park and couldn't be pushed to side of road. Only 20,000 miles, still under warranty and dealer can not diagnose or fix problem despite it being there for 4 weeks this last time. Ford Corporate no help, no loaner, no rental. Have read numerous comments on Facebook Ford advertisement that many people are having exact same issue.

I'm har that same exact issues besides I changed the transmission it started when I parked it but now with start... Can you please tell me what you figured out on your explorer please how did you fix it or was it fixable
It happened twice during last ten days , when i was driving the car using cruise mode , the ENGINE AND BRAKE suddenly stopped working , when the car stops finally , i turned the engine off and start it again , the car was ok again. Lucky there were no car or traffic lights in front of me !
A friend of mine has a mid 90's model explorer eddie bauer. His starter drags and acts as if there isnt enough juice to start it only when the engine is warmed up. When is cold or cooled down (sat for an hour or so) it starts fine. I was looking for some possible reasons for this to happen. Ive never heard of this type of problem before in my life. Thanx for any help.
I have a 2007 ford explorer eddie bauer 4.0 v6 when I turn it on it shakes and some times it shuts off, and if it does not shut off it stabilizes and runs at 100% it only does it some times, the engine once stabilized does not have any kind of vibration.
Bought the explorer a week ago. Had to jump start it to move it. Only blinkers and hazards were not working. Got it home and pulled battery to charge, checked fuses, then next day installed battery that was in it. When truck was fired up and running. Found that the power windows, interior overhead lights(dome), stopped working, the 4x4 hi/low range indicator light on dash is blinking+switch on dash will not do anything either, went today for another test drive and when I got back ,shut off engine, battery was dead,no start. Different battery in truck running- volt meter read 13.5. Is there a control module for these items. And do i replace alt due to low output.
