Jerks when accelerating SolvedSolved

Ford Escape 2003  135000 miles
After a service was done to my car, it jerks when accelerating considerably. Every time it does so, the alternator light appears in the dashboard but it has no charging issues. The scanner registers a crankshaft's sensor failure. I've disconnected the exhaust, cleaned injectors, checked coils and hoses and even changed spark plugs but the problem is still there. Any help?

I have been told that by changing all the coils the problem should be solved. If the scanner detects which of the cylinders is having a coil failure you can then replace only the damaged ones. Tell me if I could help you please.

I personally believe that your problem is that your car has not been washed with a carburetor cleaner when the tune was made.

I had your same problem and the cause ended up being an ignition coil. Once it was detected which was the damaged coil with the code errors in the dashboard, it was replaced and the problem was solved.

Jerks while driving SolvedSolved

Ford Escape 2004  180000 miles
I have a Ford Escape 3.0 v6 2004 and my problem is that, at idle speed, the engine trembles as with small jerks and the battery dashboard light flikers when a failure is presented. The jerks appear when driving at a speed of around 40-45 mph. I've already changed the alternator, spark plugs, checked the ignition coil and cleaned the injectors. What might be happening? Thanks for your help.

The problem has been solved. The vehicle was scanned and code errors P0316 and P0306 appeared, indicating a misfire in the cylinder 6. This cylinder's coil was failing, so it was replaced and the original problem disappeared. The engine is now working perfectly.

Engine failure

Ford Escape 2007  200000 miles
I own a Ford Escape 2007, 3.0 engine and it is presenting an engine failure, a kind of trembling as though electrical current could not reach it. This trembling gets worse when it is stopped or as I drive along an uphill road, when above the 4000 rpm. Coils have been checked and no failure was found. I was told the cause can either be the injectors or the catalytic converters, what do you think?

Cylinder 5 severe misfire

Ford Escape 2012 Escape limited  300000 miles
I noticed after removing the battery briefly and putting it back in, every time I would have stalling issues. This happened on several occasions and then eventually smoothed out so I didn’t think anything about it. Recently the engine light started flashing so I pulled over and scanned it. The scan turned up a cylinder 5 severe misfire. Replaced addition, coils and spark plugs, but noticed that it smells heavily of gasoline when running and they notice an excessive amount of gasoline in cylinder number five when I replaced the intake manifold after changing, spark plugs and coils. I am kind of stumped as to what this could be. Any pointers or advice would be helpful

Engine jerking

Ford Escape 2003 ford wagon v6 3.0L 231000 miles
I have ford escape 2003 v6 3.0L. While i was moving the car the engine will jerk. Previously there was a problem with the battery light flashing and had changed the alternator and the problem of the battery light was resolved. But the jerking problem is not solved. I already changed the spark plug but i found there was a bit oil licking on spark plug part. Is that the cause of the problem or is there another problem?
