Battery failure

Chevrolet HHR 2007  120000 miles
One morning, I inserted the ignition key, turned it and nothing occurred. It seemed as though the car had completely run out of battery. I used the wires and it suddenly started. Some hours later, I tried to start it again and the same event took place. When starting it, the steering wheel is really tough, what should I do?

The same happened to me and it turned out to be that my car's battery was not the appropriate one for the HHR. It needs a special battery, which is located on the back, not in the hood. So what must have happened to you is that the electrical current that was supplied was given to the battery in the hood, which is useless, and the fuse melted. You just need to replace it and your steering will be like a new one.

The battery has got a fuse, which might be either loose or wrongly placed. This fuse is located in the spare tire cabin, on the right side and over the red positive wire and it is of 30 ampers.
