Lights failure and traction control system SolvedSolved

Chevrolet Captiva 2011  61000 miles
Around two months ago, I started having problems with my Captiva. When driving, the traction control service indicator turns on and the lights intensity is reduced; the radio and all the sounds in general start turning off and on and the battery's voltage is quite variable. No failure has yet been found in the agency. Any help?

Most of this type of vans have that manufacturing problem you are mentioning, but it is easy to solve it. You need to take it to an electrician and ask him to check the battery harness that leads to the computer, which usually has a bad contact. Either fix it or replace the harness and your problems will disappear. Hope it helps you.

Which is the harness you are talking about, MALINDA?

It is the harness that goes from the battery to the computer, and is like plastic tube that protects the wires so that there are no short circuits. Inside that tube, there are lots of wires of different colours. Each of them has a plug, which can get damaged, causing the intensity of the lights to be reduced or even the radio to be turned off. Hope your problem can be solved in an electrical workshop.

My 2011 captiva slowly stopped while running flat. I pulled over and shift the gear back to park mode. Tried to start but it gave a hard start. I tried to kicked the accelerator several times and it worked, the engine was revived. What seems to be the problem?😭

Chevrolet Captiva 2011  90 miles
When turning the high beam headlamps on, the radio turns off. Also, from one moment to another, the vehicle is left without any electrical current and it is only after some minutes that it starts working again. Please if anyone had these problems and solved them, let me know. Thank you.

Check the battery harness, which might be having a false contact.

Positive battery cable is too hot

Chevrolet Captiva 2012 3.0L Sport LTZ 100000 miles
Running the A/C results in the positive battery cable being too hot to touch; the battery as a result, also becomes abnormally hot, with the Captiva acting like the battery is dead and the vehicle being unable to run i. E. , dead battery; and ceasing to run in the middle of operation. The vehicle has been in the shop several times and the mechanics haven't been able to find anything that would be the cause of it. On the last visit, one of the mechanics pulled a fuse from the engine fuse box and I'm pretty sure it was the ECM fuse. Since then, it hasn't run correctly at all, after the mechanics… Read complete

Problem after problem

Chevrolet Captiva 2014  53000 miles
Originally went to have the ignition changed. I bought my Captiva certified but every once in a while the key would not turn in the ignition. After I pulled out of the dealer I noticed I could not access my Sirius radio button. Nothing happened. Sirius sent a signal but no luck. I went back today and they said it was my radio. Since the car is under warranty, I decided to let them get a new radio. Now, my radio has to be turned way up for a good sound and it still isn't right. What the heck did they do to it? And why did I lose Sirius just because I had the ignition switched out?

Towing camper van well within towing limits engine overheats at intermittent periods. Filling the the water coolant bottle with water appears the water is ending up in the motor & not running out on the ground externally. There is no water in the bottle. Where is it ending up? The engine shudded slightly & immediately turned it off
