Car wont start and doesnt even sound like its trying to

Mitsubishi Eclipse 2003 2.4L 4 Cyl. automatic 150000 miles
My car has been sitting in my yard for the last 6 months because i bought a new car and didnt need it anymore. I finally decided that i am going to sell it and when i went to start it up it wouldnt start. At first i thought it was the battery because it sat for so long but the battery is fairly new and even after charging it up it still wouldnt start. After that i thought it might be the starter so i removed it and took it to an auto parts store where they tested it and said it was still good. When i turn the key all i hear is a humming sounds but nothing happens. I have no idea what esle to try. If anyone can help me with this problem i would greatly appreciate it.

Im having the same problem except after I tried starting it I heard a clicking noise that persisted even after I removed the keys from my car! So I opened my fuse box under my hood and after pulling 2 grey square shaped things also located in the fusebox (middle&right, both have a horn type symbol on the fuse lid) the clicking stopped but what i don't get is how can they still click when my battery is dead (my assumption) also what are they and are they expensive to fix?
