I have this problem with my 2014 CHEVY CRUZE. Where everytime I press down on the as pedal, the car accelerates but NOT past a certain a certain RPMs sometimes, or! it takes forever to get there. Now there's smoke coming out of the hood, but not a lot and the car is not overheating.so it's obviously not the transmission. ( i would assume) However when I did buy the car I drove it back from California to Oregon which is approximately?. . . (1,000 miles if that matters to anyone) there was a moment where I had to stop the car because there was a stretch of freeway that had a slight incline, and the car began to struggle. It lost acceleration then white smoke began to come out of the exhaust pipe. I had to pull over, no. This is when I looked at the transmission? That was fine and there's a little piece. That snapped off.
